Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are healthcare professionals trained to provide direct and compassionate care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring comfort, and supporting the overall well-being of individuals in various healthcare settings. Under the supervision of registered nurses, CNAs play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients, particularly those in long-term care, rehabilitation, or hospice settings. Their responsibilities include personal care, mobility support, vital signs monitoring, and providing emotional assistance, making them essential contributors to the healthcare team.

  • Personal Care Assistance: Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, to ensure their comfort and hygiene.

  • Mobility Support: DHelping patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring they can move safely within their environment. This may involve using assistive devices or providing physical support.

  • Nutritional Support: Assisting with feeding and ensuring that patients receive adequate nutrition and hydration. This may involve meal preparation and feeding assistance.

  • Family Support: Offering support and guidance to the patient’s family members. CNAs may assist families in understanding and coping with the physical and emotional challenges of the end-of-life process.
